The Forgotten Sons could soon earn a chance to challenge for the Smackdown Tag Team titles.
Last week, the three-man group featuring Steve Cutler, Jaxon Ryker and Wesley Blake made a statement by not only confronting The New Day, but attacking the eight-time Tag Team Champions as well. It’s now been confirmed that The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) will take on The Forgotten Sons in a non-title match-up.
While a stipulation regarding a future title shot has not been added, we’ve seen time and time again that defeating the champion in a non-title match usually means a title opportunity down the line. Can the Smackdown newcomers make a big statement by getting a victory over the reigning Smackdown Tag Team Champions? We’ll find out Friday!
This match joins an already loaded card featuring two Qualification bouts for the Money in the Bank Ladder match next month, with Otis taking on Dolph Ziggler in a WrestleMania 36 rematch and Mandy Rose facing former Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella.
