Well, this is both unsurprising and disappointing. Despite reports that Vince McMahon was looking for locations outside of Florida for this month's SummerSlam PPV, it's now been confirmed by PW Insider that the show will be held in the WWE Performance Center.
Atlantic City had been named as one possible location, with McMahon reportedly hoping to hold a show in front of fans potentially on a beach of boat. With COVID-19 going nowhere, though, it seems that an empty gym with trainee wrestlers pretending to be fans will have to suffice. As of right now, it's unclear when exactly WWE is planning to tape the event.
As much as WWE wants to move away from the WWE Performance Center, that's clearly not going to happen for a while, and the company needs to continue making the best of a bad situation.
