The Miz was originally scheduled to face Dolph Ziggler at
SummerSlam and while Dave Meltzer has said that the advertised bout was always a "red herring," it must still be disappointing for the A-Lister to have been dropped from one of WWE's biggest shows of the year.
"There was a contract signing and I kind of tricked Dolph Ziggler," The Miz said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. "He's been talking a lot of smack to Goldberg and so I thought I'd give the kid a chance. I figured I'll have so many opportunities at SummerSlam and Goldberg, this might be his last."
When Kimmel questioned whether The Miz won't be at SummerSlam because his and Maryse's second child is on the way, he denied that. "I will be at SummerSlam and I will make an impact. Anything I do, it doesn't matter if it is a match, a promo, if it is just a little small thing, I guarantee I will be the talk of SummerSlam."
