The New Day Are Still SMACKDOWN LIVE Tag Team Champions But Rusev Day May Be At An End

WWE spent weeks teasing dissension between Rusev and Aiden English but the tag team partners were finally put back on the right track and things were looking up for the team heading into Hell in a Cell. Unfortunately for them, The New Day managed to retain their titles on last night's Kickoff show when some miscommunication led to things going horribly wrong for the fan-favourite duo.

English tagged himself in during the match against Rusev's will and as the bout was coming to a close, he refused to let the Bulgarian Brute finish off Kofi Kingston, something which led to him being hit with a Trouble in Paradise and the champions being able to retain their titles. Needless to say, it's hard to imagine the team surviving this and The New Day will now face The Bar at Super Show-Down.

If you missed the Kickoff match, you can check it out by watching the video below. Are you glad that The New Day are still champions? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
