During Friday night's episode of SmackDown, WWE started laying the groundwork for this year's Women's WarGames match at Survivor Series

The show ended with Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Bayley, and the returning Kairi Sane) defeating Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka in a six-woman tag team match in what proved to be another dominating performance from the group. However, the big surprise came when Asuka turned heel and attacked The Queen!

Now, we have what looks to be a new women's mega-faction, and the @WrestleVotes Twitter/X account is reporting that the current plan is for SKY, Bayley, Sane, and Asuka to square off against Flair, Belair, and Shotzi.

It looks like it will be a four vs. four match as Dakota Kai, despite returning to WWE, is still injured and not cleared for in-ring competition.

As for who will join the babyface team, PWInsider claims Becky Lynch is currently the frontrunner to enter WarGames after she recently lost the NXT Women's Championship to Tiffany Stratton.

The confirmed matches for Survivor Series: WarGames thus far are The Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio) and JD McDonagh vs. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes in the Men's WarGames Match, Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Zoey Stark, and Intercontinental Champion Gunther vs. The Miz.

It's shaping up to be a solid show, though WWE likely won't go all-in on setting the stage for WrestleMania until January's Royal Rumble rolls around.

With Survivor Series set to take place in Chicago, rumours CM Punk will make his WWE return continue to run rampant. Whether that will happen is hard to say because even though the location is perfect, the Rumble arguably makes much more sense.

Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
