Last night, Sasha Banks shocked the world by defeating Nia Jax to secure a title shot at the Royal Rumble.

Speculation was that Rousey and Charlotte Flair were set for a rematch at the Royal Rumble, and then a one-on-one encounter against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. However, Flair has impressed WWE officials with her performances recently thus plans might have changed.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez explained that they believed the Sasha match was planned due to the company still trying to decide whether a triple threat or a singles match between Becky and Ronda would be the best plan.

Ronda is reportedly a huge fan of Banks and has wanted to work with her for some time, which is why WWE took the decision to have them face each other.
