As well documented, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez was training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, and WWE.com published an article on Velasquez working out at the facility. The heavyweight fighter also appeared on camera at the NXT TV tapings which took place in the same week.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Velasquez’s appearance at the WWE Performance Center was his way of trying to get a better deal with the UFC. He is currently negotiating a new deal with the company and the public appearance was a way to show the UFC that he has options outside of MMA.
