This past week on Smackdown, WWE began teasing the split of Rusev and Aiden English, as Lana made her return to TV and implied English is holding Rusev back in WWE.

Many questioned the decision to break up the popular duo, but it appears to be for possibly a main event push.

Dave Meltzer has stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has always viewed Rusev and English as a mid-card team, and there are no plans to put the tag titles on the duo.

The mindset in WWE is that Rusev and Lana work better together as a main event level act, making it possible the two are in line for a push if they are indeed reunited and English is split from The Bulgarian Brute.
