The WrestleMania Kickoff/press conference takes place this evening and it's there we'll finally learn what WWE has planned for Cody Rhodes at the Showcase of the Immortals.
Will he take back his match with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns or is The Rock going to steal the American Nightmare's spot? Or does WWE have something else in mind that we either haven't been made privy to or is a result of the #WeWantCody backlash? We'll find out soon.
In the meantime, WWE has shared a video of Dwayne Johnson arriving in Las Vegas. He shares a few brief comments and once again teases that he has long-term plans in the company which have yet to be revealed.
"Welcome to Vegas. I have a feeling this press conference will be talked about forever. Signing off, the long gamer," he says, either teasing us or trolling the fans who have turned on him since last Friday's SmackDown.
CM Punk has teased his presence at the WrestleMania Kickoff (resulting in speculation his injury isn't as bad as feared), while Rhodes has just taken to Instagram to confirm he's now made his decision.
If that's to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, fans aren't going to be happy and there's a very good chance that The Rock will become one of WWE's biggest heels heading into the Show of Shows.
"You mentioned 'The Great One' The Rock, nothing but respect for him," Rhodes said last month. "I went and saw 'Jungle Cruise,' I'm a Rock fan. I don't think he's the type that would come in and meddle with a story that's been being told over the past two years. I think he's probably up to something else, but you never know with WWE. I'll be watching just like everybody else when I'm not wrestling."
Only time will tell whether Cody was being naive in thinking that but WWE - and even Johnson - can't have missed the immense backlash which followed him giving up his WrestleMania match for the Brahma Bull (or should that be "Brahma Boo-l"?)
