The Rock Confirms That WWE Wanted Him To Team Up With Ronda Rousey At WRESTLEMANIA

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is busy with his Hollywood career but wrestling fans can't help but wonder when he might make his in-ring return. Recently doing the rounds to promote Rampage, The People's Champion confirmed that Vince McMahon reached out to him to partner with "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey at this year's WrestleMania against the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

"Matter of fact, Vince McMahon and I were talking about two months ago trying to figure out what I was going to do if I went back to WrestleMania," he revealed. "He pitched me this really great idea that I’d get involved in a tag match with Ronda Rousey who is
of course incredible and I’m very proud of her." So, why didn't this dream match end up becoming a reality?

Unfortunately, it all boiled down to timing issues, hence why Kurt Angle ended up taking his place. "We couldn’t make it work this time because I was in Shanghai. But, Who knows down the line?" Whether or not The Rock will return to WWE obviously remains to be seen for the time being.
