We recently found out that Paul Heyman would no longer be acting as Executive Director of Raw, but before he left that position, he did his best to push several Superstars.
It's been well documented that Heyman was very high on the likes of Aleister Black, Angel Garza and Buddy Murphy. He also elevated The Street Profits to the best of his ability, and his enthusiasm for the former NXT tandem clearly paid off, because Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins are the current Raw tag-team champions.
While speaking to Kenny McIntosh of Inside the Ropes, Ford was full of praise for the former ECW owner, touching on the carious ways he helped him and Dawkins out when they moved up to the main roster.
“I would like to say I owe Paul Heyman my friggin’ life man. I know both me collectively, me and Dawkins, owe him pretty much our lives. He has always been there since day one. I remember specifically the first time we encountered Paul Heyman and him just giving us a wealth of knowledge.
I remember when we first debuted on Monday Night RAW, I remember specifically he was the first person that came and found us and talked to us and just pretty much took us under his wing and just, there is so much I can say and describe, he’s given us a whole bunch of stuff, and he’s pretty much been there the whole way, give us a whole lot of motivation, insight, you guys know.”
The Street Profits are set to defend their titles against Andrade and Garza at Extreme Rules, so it'll be interesting to see if they hold on to the gold.
