The Undertaker, aka Mark Calloway, is now officially retired, but it sounds like the Deadman might just be tempted back for one more match with The Tribal Chief.
The two legends previously crossed paths at WrestleMania 33 when 'Taker lost a No Holds Barred match to Reigns in the main event, but that was when The Big Dog was being positioned as the WWE's next top babyface (it didn't work), so things would be very different now he's actually managed to get over as a despicable heel.
“I’m so proud of where he is,” Calaway tells SI.com. “The night of Survivor Series [in November], I went up to Roman and Jey and said, ‘This is the most compelling story that we’ve done in a while.’ And where he’s been able to take it, it’s so good. It’s not forced. Roman is hitting on all cylinders.”
“I think he’s a great heel—coldhearted, calculated. There is a compelling backstory and you still feel the tension when Roman appears. Like I said, I’m really proud of him. I wish I had the gas in the tank to work a program with him now. It would definitely be something special.”
Of course, it's highly unlikely that The Phenom would come out of retirement (again), and as he admits himself, he may not have quite enough left in the tank to compete with Reigns in the ring, anyway. Still, we've learned that you can never say never when it comes to pro-wrestling.
