Despite it being made clear that The Undertaker's time as an in-ring talent is over, it's unwise to rule anything out in the crazy world of professional wrestling.
Following the Phenom's retirement and WWE Hall of Fame induction, fans have continued to hope he might be able to return for one final match. In an interview with The Independent, the icon shared two names he'd like to square off with...if he were 100%.
"I would love to be healthy enough to have a match now with Roman Reigns," The Undertaker admits. "When we worked at [WrestleMania 33], I was on my last legs. And he wasn’t he wasn’t nearly the performer that he is now."
"And then another guy that I would love to have worked with would be Seth Rollins. He’s just an incredible in-ring talent," the Deadman said of the new World Heavyweight Champion. "And now he’s got this really flamboyant character, which would have been a really interesting contrast between the doom and gloom of The Undertaker and his over-the-top character."
Going back to Reigns, and 'Taker shared high praise indeed for the man who has now been Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for 1000 days. However, would he put him on the Mount Rushmore of wrestlers?
"He’s doing a phenomenal job. His character, his talent and everything has grown exponentially through this run. It’s arguably one of the greatest runs ever. I like it because it’s such an old school move, to have the title that long."
"He’s got to be in the conversation. But do you put him in the same boat as Stone Cold Steve Austin, or Hulk Hogan? I don’t know. Everything’s so subjective when it comes to that."
While The Undertaker continues to rule out any future matches, we'd say the door may be ajar to at least doing something down the line. Like most WWE Legends, he continues to work closely with the company one of those impressive Saudi Arabian paydays may well be enough to convince him to step back into the ring again.
Would you like to see him battle Reigns and Rollins?
