During
Broken Skull Sessions on the WWE Network, The Undertaker was asked by Stone Cold Steve Austin about his relationship wih WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The Deadman pointed out that they've always had a really good creatove collaboration over the years and that their friendship has grown as a result.
The Undertaker credits that with Vince
"[trusting] my judgment with a lot of the things with the character." He says that Vince even trusted him when he wanted to adopt his American Badass persona and notes that while they have butted heads over the years, they ultimately have the same passion for the business and that's helped them get past any issues.
"If we butt heads or we don’t agree, which is gonna happen, it’s a creative business. We’re not gonna always see eye to eye. You and I may not have the same vision on a finish but we’ll get there." He concluded by saying that he knows Vince gave him a chance when WCW told him that he would never draw money and he still appreciates that.
"[There's] no telling where I would have been if he hadn’t given me the chance. I just never forgot that."
