Well, that didn't last long. Chris Jericho managed to take the US Championship from Kevin Owens at Payback this past Sunday, but during tonight's Smackdown Live main event the prize fighter was able to reclaim his title and once again become "the new face of America."

KO pretty much decimated Y2J towards the end of the match, but the carnage didn't stop after the bell rang. As Jericho was being helped up the ramp, Owens returned and continued the beat-down - even going so far as to place a chair around his old friend's head and send him crashing into the ring post.

The severity of this spot is most likely an indication that Jericho is going to be out with an injury for quite a while (he'll actually be touring with his band, Fozzy).
