Cedric Alexander put on such an incredible performance in the Cruiserweight Classic that fans chanted "Please Sign Cedric." WWE would go on to sign him to a contract, of course, but since arriving on the main roster, he's failed to make much on an impact.
That was despite Paul Heyman's attempts to push him as a top star and Vince McMahon, who quickly lost interest in Alexander, instead decided to bury him. Now, Dave Meltzer is reporting that despite months of featuring Alexander on Main Event, that's probably as good as it will get for him for the foreseeable.
"They’ve got no plans for Cedric," Meltzer reports. "He’s a talented guy but his number is just not being called."
There's no backstage heat on Alexander but McMahon simply doesn't see him as a top star and gave up on him a while back. While he could change his mind somewhere down the line, the way he was so easily defeated by Angel Garza on Monday says otherwise.
