A few weeks ago, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that there had been talks with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan to have him appear at WrestleMania. That obviously didn't happen, but made perfect sense for the original version of the show as Hogan was going to be in Tampa to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (again) alongside the nWo.
Now, WrestlingNews.co is reporting that the pitch made within WWE is that Hogan was going to end up entering the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal...and winning!
"The idea was he wouldn’t take any bumps," the site's source explains. "We would work it so he would only have to eliminate one or two guys at the end and then he would get his big celebration at the end with his music. It would have been perfect because he lives in the Tampa area."
Vince McMahon reportedly didn't shoot this idea down, but talks may have broken down over finances and this would never have happened anyway due to the match being cancelled because of COVID-19. Hogan has said on numerous occasions that he wants his final match to be in WWE rather than TNA, but if that is going to happen, then we'll be waiting a little bit longer for it.
