It probably won't surprise you to learn this, but Monday's episode of RAW was thrown together at the last-minute...again!
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Superstars who reported to the building for the show had no idea what they would be doing until late afternoon/early evening. That's because WWE Chairman Vince McMahon didn't start working with the writing team until the afternoon.
It's said that he was actually more inaccessible that normal, and that it was 2pm before he started working on the show.
For those of you wondering why there was no RAW Underground, Meltzer points out that it's because the wrestlers who are used as extras around the ring came in contact with those from NXT who tested positive for COVID-19. The segments had been part of RAW for seven weeks, so some fans have expressed concern WWE has given up on the wacky idea.
Well, it sounds like it hasn't been scrapped, but that could change...after all, this is Vince we're talking about, and a week of RAW Underground being M.I.A. could be enough for him to have basically moved on from the segments.
As always, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated!
