Following Jeff Hardy's arrest during Friday's SmackDown, Elias - who had been taken out by the supposed drink driver - was unable to compete, and AJ Styles happily accepted the opportunity to move forward in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament. Daniel Bryan, however, wasn't happy with not facing Hardy, and a Battle Royal was set for a little later in the show.
Ultimately, it came down to Jey Uso and Sheamus, and the Celtic Warrior ended up standing tall after managing to hit a Brogue Kick which knocked the former Tag Team Champion off the apron.
As you might expect, Bryan and Sheamus delivered a killer match which culminated in the leader of the Yes Movement picking up the 1-2-3 after Hardy returned to the building and distracted Sheamus long enough for Bryan to hit his patented knee strike.
After the bell rang, a furious Hardy (clearly aware he's been set up by Sheamus) beat his foe down, and stood tall as the show went off the air. It's now official that the finals will feature Bryan taking on Styles, with the winner crowned the new Intercontinental Champion.
