This year's Elimination Chamber (which will decide the new #1 contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship) is going to feature seven men for the first-time ever, while AJ Styles is going to defend his title against four men in a Fatal-5-Way match at Fastlane. So, what the deal with these big multi-man matches? Well, it's not because WWE is short on ideas for its Superstars.
According to the Wrestle Votes Twitter account, the reason for these big matches is to "keep the fans guessing" about what's going to happen at WrestleMania. It's not a bad approach but considering the fact that Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles is the only match which makes sense on the SmackDown Live side and Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar has been rumoured for a year, it's not working!
It is, of course, possible that WWE has some surprises in store for us but it's hard to believe that's the case and WrestleMania won't be another relatively predictable affair. We'll have to wait and see...
