Three Big Title Matches Took Place On RAW Last Night But Only ONE Of Them Changed Hands

Last night's RAW was the final episode before Christmas and the show was headlined by three title matches. However, only one of them ended up changing hands as we head into a huge 2024 for the company.

With no live episode of RAW next week due to the holidays, last night's effort was a relatively low-key affair. WWE mainly focused on setting up the "Day One" edition of RAW on January 1, though we did get three title matches!

Unfortunately, despite it looking like The Miz might finally dethrone Intercontinental Champion Gunther, the A-Lister was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempt.

There was a point when it seemed he might end the Austrian's record-breaking reign, though the heel managed to extend his run with a powerbomb, ripcord lariat and, finally, a second powerbomb. As a result, he remains one of WWE's most dominant champions heading into 2024.

After some hijinks with R-Truth earlier in the night, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and Damian Priest) successfully defended the Undisputed Tag Team Championships against The Creed Brothers.

However, Woman's Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green and Piper Niven weren't quite so lucky; Katana Chance and Kayden Carter secured the belts after hitting Green with the Afterparty. Backstage, the teams of Natalya and Tegan Nox and Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark were both lined up as possible future contenders.

Elsewhere in the show, the rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura intensified, while Drew McIntyre brutally attacked Seth Rollins ahead of their World Heavyweight Championship match less than two weeks from now.

There was no sign of CM Punk, unfortunately, and he's not currently advertised for the first RAW of 2024. However, we'll no doubt see more of the Best in the World heading into next month's Royal Rumble PLE as Punk is the favourite to win that match and head straight to the main event of WrestleMania
