Tiffany Stratton has successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to become the new WWE women's champion as of the January 3, 2025 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!

This came about as a result of a ruse wherein Nia Jax was defending the WWE Women's Championship against one half of the women's tag team champions, Naomi (who, remember, took over Jade Cargill's spot as champion after Cargill was attacked by a mystery assailant—and whom Naomi and Bianca Belair suspect could possibly be Nia Jax, who has repeatedly denied this and continues to suspect Belair herself).

Prior to the match, Jax was backstage talking to Candice LeRae about how neither of them had seen Tiffany Stratton. LeRae, who has had her issues with Stratton over the past few months, downplayed her and continued to try to position herself as Jax's right-hand woman instead.

During the match, Jax and Naomi were distracted by some interference from LeRae. To help even the odds, Belair came over to take out LeRae, but was laid out by Jax (who tossed the women's tag team title belt at Belair, among other things).

In that commotion, Tiffany Stratton ran down to the ring with a new referee in-hand and her Money in the Bank briefcase, seemingly ready to cash it in. However, she immediately pushed the referee out of the way, and while the original referee was busy dealing with all the chaos going on, Stratton nailed Naomi in the head with the briefcase.

This gave Jax the opportunity to take advantage of the situation, crashing down on Naomi with an Annihilator (her Banzai Drop finisher) and she was able to secure her title with a pinfall victory.

However, after the match, The EST of WWE was still looking for a fight and decided to get some retribution on Jax. Belair picked up the champion and slammed her down with a KOD, and this is when Stratton decided she had to capitalize on the wounded title-holder while she could.

Stratton then officially did cash in her Money in the Bank contract, hitting a Prettiest Moonsault Ever and pinning Jax to win the WWE Women's Championship, keeping the streak going where every single woman who has ever held the briefcase has successfully won a title upon her cash-in.

Stratton also now goes down as the 7th longest stretch to hold the briefcase (behind Carmella, Damian Priest, Edge, Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler, Otis, Sheamus, and Daniel Bryan) and this will be her first title reign on the main roster, after previously reigning as NXT women's champion.
