Tonight's WWE broadcasts of NXT Vengeance Day and Lucha Libre AAA both had some noteworthy things go down as the NXT Women's North American Championship title changed hands with Tatum Paxley defeating Izzi Dame, and the final qualifier for the Rey de Reyes tournament final determined.
Let's break down the talking points!
NXT Women's North American Championship Changes Hands:
Tatum Paxley defeated Izzi Dame midway through NXT Vengeance Day to take her Women's North American Championship.
This is Paxley's second championship so far, after having previously had a short stint with the NXT Women's Championship that she lost due to Dame, effectively wiping that slate clean now.
As Blake Monroe defeated Jaida Parker in their street fight, and Lola Vice defeated Kelani Jordan in the NXT Underground match, both could be potential contenders for that title, or possibly the NXT Women's Championship, considering it was also announced that Jacy Jayne will face both Sol Ruca and Zaria in a Triple Threat match on the March 17th episode of NXT in Houston.
AAA Results:
- El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dinámico
- Rey de Reyes Tournament Qualifying Match: Santos Escobar defeated Abismo Negro, Mr. Iguana, and Psycho Clown with a pinfall over Mr. Iguana.
- Original El Grande Americano defeated La Parka by pinfall.
That makes the updated lineup for AAA's upcoming Rey de Reyes event to be the following card:
- Four-Way Match Rey de Reyes Tournament Final to Determine the #1 Contender for the AAA Mega Championship: La Parka vs. “The Original” El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar
- Tag Team Match for the AAA World Tag Team Championship: Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) vs. The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar)
- Four-Way Match for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Laredo Kid (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. TJP vs. Jack Cartwheel
- No Disqualification Match for the AAA Mega Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo (with Dorian Roldán and Omos) — Stipulation: If Mysterio wins, Vikingo can't challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is champion. If Vikingo wins, Mysterio has to leave AAA
- Singles Match for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship: Flammer vs. TBD — Stipulation: This will be an open challenge
