On the March 17, 2026 edition of WWE NXT, Wren Sinclair defeated Fallon Henley to win the WWE Women's Speed Championhip.
How did this go down tonight, what led to this, and what could be on the horizon? Let's break it all down!
What Went Down:
WWE Speed title shots are determined predominantly through mini tournaments of three matches. Wren Sinclair had won the latest opportunity for Fallon Henley's title after defeating Nikkita Lyons in the first round and Thea Hail in the second round recently.
Sinclair was able to beat Henley for the belt within that five minute time frame predominantly by focusing on Henley's shoulder, which was taped up. Sinclair's Final Wrench finisher was the perfect submission to lock on to target that specific area to secure the victory and Sinclair's first title within her WWE career.
Winning this title was particularly called special due to the location, as Sinclair is originally from Dallas, Texas.
After the match, Henley was upset about losing her title in a backstage segment alongside fellow Fatal Influence members Jacy Jayne and Lainey Reid. While Jayne was happy about retaining her own NXT Women's Championship over Zaria and Sol Ruca, Henley is upset with Jayne and plans to get some revenge on Sinclair and Kendal Grey with Reid's help. Grey, mind you, has stated that she is hoping for another shot at Jayne's title and should be considered one of the top potential candidates to receive the next title shot, alongside likely Lola Vice.
Personal Reactions & What Happens Next?:
This is a great thing for Sinclair. It seems WWE is trying to use the Speed concept as something of a lower card championship in NXT compared to the North American titles, which fits Sinclair well. It's a good pat on the back for being around as long as she's been and for improving. Reid is likely the next person to fight for it and could very well take it, or Sinclair could just go on a run for a bit. This also helps further my theory that Henley dropping the title may mean she and/or Jayne might be getting called up to the main roster soon enough (I'm thinking after Stand & Deliver and WrestleMania are over with), or this could at least have freed up Henley to possibly break up from Fatal Influence if that group fractures.
