The next NXT premium live event is just around the corner with WWE Battleground set to take place May 25, 2025 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
While some matches had been announced last week or so, this week's episode of NXT set some more in stone and added a few others to the lineup to really flesh out the card.
One addition already confirmed is that Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo will face off against Tony D'Angelo. Tonight, D'Angelo was in action against Wes Lee and Stacks appeared on the TitanTron, showing that he was outside Adriana Rizzo's safehouse. That threat distracted The Don, who lost to Lee, and then went off to go check up on her. Stacks jumped D'Angelo and beat him down, saying he was planning to end The D'Angelo Family at Battleground.
Next week on NXT, if Kelani Jordan can beat Zaria, we'll see Sol Ruca defend the NXT Women's North American Championship against Jordan.
Just the same, Ricky Saints is going to put his NXT North American Championship up for grabs against the winner of next week's Triple Threat match between Ashante "Thee" Adonis, "Super" Sean Legacy, and Je'Von Evans. It may be important to note that Ethan Page attacked Saints on NXT and said he's not finished with him, which may or may not factor into the card.
As far as the three previous matches that had been announced for Battleground prior, all of them were, funny enough, in jeopardy tonight, but managed to be reaffirmed.
Myles Borne was challenged by Ethan Page to put his #1 contendership on the line, but Borne came out on top, so he will indeed face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship.
Jordynne Grace pinned Jacy Jayne in a tag team match to "protect her investment" of Stephanie Vaquer against Fatal Influence, to ensure that match for the NXT Women's Championship was still on the line.
And Joe Hendry had a contract signing with Trick Williams to make it official that their TNA World Championship match will take place.
