Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT Showdown:
On tap for tonight's episode, the theme of the night is NXT vs TNA, featuring two Survivor Series style tag team elimination matches and several titles on the line.
My theory on the outcome of all of this is that if they stick to just the four advertised matches, it will end up in a tie between the two companies so neither looks all that bad (even though NXT is consistently the better of the two), and I think the way to balance it between two wins each is rather simple.
Starting off, Ethan Page isn't losing the North American Championship to Mustafa Ali. That's an easy pick. Likewise, The Hardy Boyz aren't losing the TNA World Tag Team Championship to DarkState ahead of their match at Bound for Glory against The Dudley Boyz. Matt and Jeff walk out with the NXT tag team titles (which they've yet to win in their careers, so that checks that off their bucket list) and get to carry them into Bound for Glory to give some extra spotlight to that brand. Eventually, they'll lose them to some NXT tag team, but it'll be the first instance of someone from TNA holding a WWE title.
Then, when it comes to the men's and women's Survivor Series matches, the women's team for TNA is kind of a joke. It consists of all former WWE Superstars and one who currently is on NXT and not contracted in any way to TNA as the leader. As much as Jacy Jayne leading her team of babyfaces to victory seems odd, Jaida Parker, Lola Vice, and Sol Ruca are all treated rather well and I think they'll carry their team to the end.
On the other side, though, Ricky Saints is going to run into trouble with Trick Williams. I'm betting Trick walks out on his team or does something directly to Saints, leading to Mike Santana coming out on top for Team TNA. The only way that doesn't happen, I feel, is if Joe Hendry somehow acts like a total villain and screws over TNA as a mole for NXT, but since he's such an over babyface, that would be a mistake.
