Next week's episode of NXT will be back in the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and as big as NXT Homecoming was, they're following it up with another important show.
During the Grayson Waller Effect segment on tonight's episode, Oba Femi and Ricky Saints were talking about who will win their NXT Championship bout at the upcoming premium live event NXT No Mercy, when they were interrupted by the TNA world champion Trick Williams. Trick still has his eyes on getting back the NXT Championship and has continuously made it known that he's coming for Oba Femi, so Grayson Waller decided to suggest a title-for-title match on next week's episode. That way, they could settle it once and for all, and the winner could then go on to defend both titles against Ricky Saints at No Mercy.
This was later made official by Ava, and William Regal told her that she'll have her hands full with that match.
This surely won't sit well with the TNA roster, who has been tweeting all throughout the night about how they feel disrespected by how much control WWE and NXT has over their brand, with Trick as the TNA world champion, decisions being made across the shows, talent getting their title shots and so forth, implying we might see some sort of invasion angle take place next week. That has not yet been confirmed, though, obviously, as WWE would want to keep that a surprise.
What we do know we're getting next week on top of the winner takes all match is the WWE Speed tournament final to determine the No. 1 contender for Sol Ruca's Speed Women's Championship at No Mercy, as Lainey Reid will face Candice LeRae. Reid had defeated AAA's Faby Apache and LeRae beat TNA's Xia Brookside to earn their way to the finals.
Myles Borne will also be in a "lights out" match against Lexis King, who was taken out by Borne and Finn Balor on tonight's episode. This follows their blindfold match from a few weeks back.
Lastly, it was also announced that at NXT No Mercy, Tavion Heights will get an opportunity for Ethan Page's North American Championship, as revealed by Damian Priest, who went and spoke to Ava about setting up that title shot as he sees a lot of potential in Heights.
That means the updated cards for next week's NXT and No Mercy after that are as follows:
