Due to the PG nature of WWE these days, hardcore matches are a thing of the past and when we do get a Street Fight or something similar, they're usually relatively tame affairs. Tommy Dreamer - who made a name for himself competing in bloody and violent matches - keeps the tradition alive with his House of Hardcore promotion but has an issue with the word and it all goes back to WWE.

"The word hardcore has been bastardized by WWE," he explained. "People think about blood, or tables, or chairs. To me, hardcore is a work ethic. You know it became hardcore was WWE’s version was early ECW and in ECW we did every single thing we could to put on a great performance for the fans." It's an interesting point and one which does make a fair bit of sense.

"In Impact, I want to say every single wrestler could be hardcore. Becuase everybody goes out there an busts their butts to entertain the fans. No matter what situation they have been in."

Do you agree with Dreamer's remarks about the word "hardcore" and does Impact's roster really fit that description? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
