Triple H Explains Why He Wouldn't Let A WWE Contracted Wrestler Compete In The MAE YOUNG CLASSIC
The Mae Young Classic was a big success for WWE as it brought a wealth of new female talent to the company and Triple H has now revealed why he wouldn't let one WWE contracted wrestler compete in the event.
Being the boss isn't easy and that's something Triple H recently learned when he had to break it to a contracted WWE Superstar that they wouldn't be allowed to compete in the Mae Young Classic. While The Game didn't name names, he noted that she's been in the WWE Performance Center "for a while" now and that likely means she's appeared on NXT at some point in the recent past.
A handful of other competitors who have WWE contracts were included in the tournament so why exactly couldn't Triple H find a spot for this clearly very enthusiastic female wrestler?
"She’s kind of always been on this cusp and the timing has always wrong. And I had to go to her, and I wanted to do it personally because I felt like I owed it to her, to say, ‘I can’t put you in the tournament. You should be in the tournament, but I don’t have the spot for you.’ To watch her fight the tears and the ultimate disappointment of that, it’s tough, man. That’s a hard thing to do. But you’ve got to keep in mind that you want the opportunity to be the biggest it can across the platform."
There's no way that could have been an easy decision for Triple H and he could be talking about pretty much anyone down in Full Sail. It was never the plan to put active WWE wrestlers like Sasha Banks and Naomi in the Mae Young Classic but you can appreciate why this up and coming young star was so upset by being excluded. Do you have any theories about who exactly this could be?
