Triple H Is Still Open To Squaring Off With Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson At WRESTLEMANIA
A couple of years ago, a backstage promo featuring Triple H and The Rock teases a confrontation between the two at WrestleMania. It's never happened but could that change somewhere down the line? Well...
When The Rock and Triple H crossed paths on SmackDown Live a while back, it looked like the stage was being set for the old rivals to square off at WrestleMania. That match has never happened (probably because of Dwayne Johnson's ridiculously busy Hollywood schedule) but The Game revealed in a recent interview that he's still open to making it a reality.
During a Facebook Q&A in India, Triple H was quizzed on their long-running rivalry and said that it has been discussed and if the scheduling works out, there's a chance it could happen.
"About two years ago, he and I [The Rock] did a backstage promo with each other where we talked about WrestleMania and the competitive nature of it and it lit up the internet about the possibility of it. It’s something we’ve discussed. It’s just making schedules work, he’s pretty busy I am too. But hey, right place, right time? I’ll dance one more time with The Great One, Rock."
Unfortunately, movie studios aren't keen on The Rock wrestling while he's working for them due to insurance issues and the fact any injuries could delay release dates. However, if everything falls into place, this match might still become a reality. How soon that will be is hard to say but you'd hope that it takes place at the Showcase of the Immortals sooner rather than later.
