These days, New Japan Pro Wrestling is hotter than it's ever been and it appears as if WWE has taken notice. We know the company is interested in wrestlers like Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (the feeling may not be mutual) and Vince McMahon has even given Chris Jericho the green light to head to Japan and compete and the former WWE Champion has totally reinvented himself.
During a recent interview, The Game was asked if he's open to working with NJPW and it sounds as if he is! "We are open to doing things with anybody or anything," he teased, before adding:
"We have an alliance with PROGRESS in the UK, a situation with ICW in Scotland, two very well run and respected promotions that do good business – but more importantly they are cultivating talent. They are not just exploiting talent and grabbing guys to do a show with them, they are teaching talent and trying to make them better, which is what it is all about for me."
We've seen WWE collaborate with any number of unexpected companies in recent years, including TNA! Whether we'll get a team-up of sorts between WWE and NJPW is hard to say but Triple H concluded: "Is there opportunity for cross-promotional events? Absolutely, with the right things. It’s a blank slate and I’m open to just about anything if the right situation shows itself."
Sounds pretty good, right? For now, we'll just have to wait and see but if this were to take place, don't be surprised if it ends up being part of an NXT show as opposed to RAW or SmackDown LIVE!
