Next week, we’ll find out who’s the next contender for the WWE Championship.
Yesterday on Friday night Smackdown, it was confirmed that a number one contender’s match between King Corbin, Daniel Bryan, and The Miz will take place.
Based off the last few months, it does appear that this is a sure fire win for Daniel Bryan, as there is some speculation that Bryan and Wyatt will have a rematch for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. In fact, it was reported that the two were originally set to clash again at TLC; however, Bryan reportedly fought to save the match until the Royal Rumble instead.
Of course, with the Royal Rumble match being the big selling point, WWE can always take a huge risk and have King Corbin walk out of the match-up victorious. The 2019 King of the Ring winner just left his feud with Roman Reigns as the winner, thus company officials may actually test the waters and see how Corbin does in the title picture slot on a major pay-per-view. This is strictly speculation, as there has been no rumor on Corbin challenging for the WWE title anytime soon.
It was never confirmed that the title match would take place at the Royal Rumble; however, local advertisements have Daniel Bryan challenging The Fiend for the WWE Championship. Of course, the card is subject to change.
