Evolution kicked off with Trish Stratus and Lita taking on Alicia Fox and Mickie James. Alexa Bliss was originally supposed to compete but a recent concussion meant that would not be the case. Little Miss Bliss was, however, still at ringside and she helped the heels gain the advantage on a number of occasions throughout the match (a Trish Stratus vs. Alexa Bliss has to be in the works for the near future).
As the match drew to a close, Trish delivered the Stratusfaction to James and Lita hit the Twist of Fate and her trademark moonsault to open the door to one final Chick Kick from Trish for the 1-2-3.
It was an entertaining opening match and one which fans in the building definitely appreciated, especially as the two WWE Hall of Famers picked up the win against the heels. Rumour has it that they'll be sticking around for a while from here, so it should be interesting seeing how things play out now.
