This year's Money in the Bank pay-per-view was scheduled to take place on May 10 at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD, but it was recently announced that the show was cancelled. WWE will likely still find a way to pre-tape the matches or air the PPV from the Performance Center, however, and are moving ahead with qualifying bouts for the men's and women's ladder matches.
Last night on SmackDown, it was announced that Daniel Bryan will face Cesaro for the opportunity to claim the first spot in the men's match. These guys faced off a few weeks ago in an exciting encounter, so their next meeting should be even better with the stakes raised.
Plus, Naomi will go one-on-one with Dana Brooke to see who'll secure the first place in the women's match. Naomi may seem like the safest bet here, but Brooke has been growing in popularity and is said to have a lot of vocal support backstage, so she might surprise us with a win.
Tune in next Friday to see who comes out on top, and keep an eye on The Ring Report for updates regarding the Money in the Bank PPV.
