Despite it initially being reported that Roman Reigns would be taking most of the summer off, the Tribal Chief will be making plenty of appearances for WWE this summer.
Following his match at Night of Champions (which saw him team up with Solo Sikoa to battle Undisputed Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens), Reigns will also compete at Money in the Bank next month.
If recent rumours are to be believed, WWE is planning a match in London which will see The Usos team up to battle Reigns and Sikoa.
It sounds like whatever happens there will carry over into SummerSlam, proving the company has no plan to end The Bloodline drama anytime soon. There are actually rumblings Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey at SummerSlam, revisiting a rivalry that kickstarted The Bloodline as we know it.
However, according to a listing from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, Reigns will first put his new belt on the line against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at the event.
This shouldn't be taken as an indication that a feud with Rey on television is planned, but for those attending the non-televised event, it should be a lot of fun.
Reigns has pretty much run out of challengers in recent months, so a feud with his cousins that runs throughout much of 2023 seems like the best possible choice at this stage. The only other viable contenders on the blue brand are arguably Bobby Lashley, Edge, and AJ Styles (though he recently failed to beat Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight title).
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
