Bobby Roode was interviewed by WWE Fan France heading into the Royal Rumble about being crowned the new United States Champion. Roode said that he is excited about being champion, and recalled the position he was in last year, when he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in an excellent match to become NXT Champion for the 1st time in his career. knows that "you're not handed a 'Mania match just because; you have to earn it," and he's looking forward to getting the opportunity to earn his spot.
The "Glorious One" was also asked if there was one person he would like to defend his U.S. Championship against at WrestleMania. He answered, "John Cena."
Roode doesn’t go into detail on why he would want to face the 16 time World champ at the big event, but one can assume that these two will eventually cross paths sometime in the near future.
Neither Roode and Cena have history together, but both have been wrestling for nearly 20 years and have the experience and history in the business behind them. The “Glorious” Bobby Roode vs. John Cena has the makings to be an excellent match and feud based on the abilities of both men.
What do you think? Would you want to see John Cena take on Bobby Roode at WrestleMania?
