We should have seen this coming!

Last night, Jeff Hardy defeated Jinder Mahal to become the new US Champion - but the title didn't stay on Raw for long.

Tonight on SmackDown LIVE, Shelton Benjamin made his way to the ring to demand singles competition, and after his request was initially answered by Randy Orton, Hardy's music hit and the "Charismatic Enigma" was revealed as the Blue Brand's first draft pick.

So, the US Title stays on SmackDown, and it looks like we might have another contender to add to the mix in the now full-on heel Shelton Benjamin. It also means that IC Champ Seth Rollins will more than likely be staying put, as they clearly didn't do a title switch as many speculated they would after Mahal debuted on Raw.
