Ever since All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019, there have been countless reports about WWE Superstars looking to make the leap to the rival company. Quite a few big names from that company are now part of Dynamite each week, of course, including Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and FTR, but was Braun Strowman once set to join them?
Earlier today, we shared comments from Dave Meltzer in which he explained that a number of WWE Superstars have spoken to AEW at one point or another, but the Monster Among Men's name was thrown around by a lot of fans online this weekend after a report from Heel By Nature.
Strowman reached out to one of the contributors to dismiss claims he was nearly part of AEW as "fake news" and pointed out that he doesn't "like being clickbait for lies."
Honestly, this isn't surprised as Strowman signed a deal with WWE last July which was for five years. While he could have contacted them before that, it seems unlikely considering the fact Dynamite didn't premiere on TNT until months later.
It's certainly interesting to wonder what AEW would look like with the Universal Champion as part of the roster, but the company has made it clear they don't want to be WWE-lite with a bunch of wrestlers who used to be part of WWE.
