Upcoming WWE Live Event In Madison Square Garden Likely To Be Scrapped Due To Coronavirus

WWE has yet to officially comment on the matter, but with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo prohibiting gatherings of 500 people or more in the state, the company's upcoming MSG show is unlikely to happen...

A number of wrestling events around the globe are being cancelled, and as much as WWE would like to ensure that the show goes on as normal for members of the WWE Universe, that may now be easier said than done.

Despite there being plans in place for a non-televised show in New York City's Madison Square Garden on Sunday, March 22nd, it looks like WWE will be forced to cancel that after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced today that gatherings of more than 500 people in the state are prohibited moving forward (hence why Broadway has closed down tonight).

WWE won't move forward with this show without an audience able to attend as there's nothing to be gained from that, and they'll lose a lot of money having Superstars compete in front of 500 fans! Plus, logistically, that just doesn't work.

WWE has yet to cancel/postpone this event, but expect to hear from them sooner rather than later.
