Update On Recent SMACKDOWN LIVE Kevin Owens/ Vince McMahon Segment - WWE Claims Bleeding Wasn't Planned

Last week on Smackdown Live, Kevin Owens busted Vince McMahon open with a shoot headbutt before punting him in the ribs and delivering a devastating frog splash. It was a terrific segment overall, but because of the bleeding violation penalties WWE has in place, many wondered if Vince's color was planned.

At the time, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reckoned Vince must have bladed before coming out to the ring and covered the cut with nu-skin, but he's now hearing differently.

According to his sources, WWE is internally claiming that there was no blade involved and the blood was not planned. In other words, KO busted his boss open accidentaly and the closeups of McMahon bleeding were just a coincidence.

Of course, there's always a chance the WWE is just saying this to cover their asses, as that "no blood" policy has been in effect for quite some time and they have gotten flak for it in the past.

What do you guys think? Accidental, or was this planned beforehand?
