Several updates have been made to the lineup for the upcoming WWE NXT Deadline premium live event, scheduled to take place this Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Prior to tonight, it was already determined that Ridge Holland would be the next in line to face Trick Williams for the NXT Championship. Though that has not yet changed, Trick's status as the fighting champion is in question after he was slammed on the commentary desk by his challenger. Williams was stretchered out of the arena and NXT General Manager Ava accompanied him to a hospital, where she later on told her assistants, Robert Stone and Stevie Turner, that Trick remained adamant he still wanted the match to go on as scheduled.
Eddy Thorpe, on the other hand, may end up having that decision made for him. After defeating Axiom, Cedric Alexander and Lexis King in the men's Last Chance Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifier match, Thorpe was eventually seen laying on the ground in the back, having been attacked by a currently unknown assailant. That was how this week's episode of NXT concluded, leaving that story an open-ended question as to whether or not Thorpe will be able to make it or be replaced by someone—and if so, who and how that would go down.
It was a good night for No Quarter Catch Crew, though, as Myles Borne was able to outlast all of his competitors to win the tag team battle royal, earning himself and his tag team partner, Tavion Heights, a match against Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Championship at this show. Frazer will have to pull double-duty, as he's also currently scheduled to compete in the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge, which will make one of those bouts much harder, whichever goes on second.
As far as the Women's Iron Survivor Challenge, that last chance qualifier was won by No Quarter Catch Crew's Wren Sinclair, who got the surprising upset on a technicality. Lola Vice interfered in the match and attempted to strike her rival, Jaida Parker, with a spinning back fist, only for Parker to duck and Sinclair to eat the hit instead. Funny enough, this rocked her backward and she fell on top of Cora Jade, scoring the pin and earning herself a spot in the match.
As a result of all of this, Lola Vice's previous challenge for an NXT Underground match against Jaida Parker was then settled by Ava, who booked it for NXT Deadline. Parker proved herself capable of this style of combat when she tossed her brick aside and knocked out Vice without it.
This brings the updated lineup for NXT Deadline to the following card:
- Men's Iron Survivor Challenge Match: Eddy Thorpe vs. Ethan Page vs. Je'Von Evans vs. Nathan Frazer vs. Wes Lee
- Women's Iron Survivor Challenge Match: Giulia vs. Sol Ruca vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Wren Sinclair vs. Zaria
