WWE Chairman Vince McMahon frequently portrayed himself as a womaniser on RAW and SmackDown, but as is so often the case with pro wrestling and sports entertainment, the line between reality and fantasy may have now blurred. According to The Wall Street Journal, the CEO is being investigated by WWE's board following an alleged secret $3 million settlement.

The site reports that Vince had an affair with this woman, who was hired by WWE as a paralegal in 2019, with the deal-making it so that she can't speak about their relationship or say anything disparaging about him. The investigation reportedly began back in April, and this could go some way in explaining why Stephanie McMahon recently shocked the world by deciding to leave WWE.

The site alleges that there are multiple non-disclosure agreements like this that are said to involve both Vince and WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis. It appears Vince used personal funds to pay for the silence of these former employees, but apparent misconduct like this could be extremely damaging to both men. One anonymous email sent to board members even claims that Vince doubled the women's salary (from $100,000 to $200,000) when their sexual relationship began.

Most concerning, however, is the allegation that McMahon "gave her like a toy" to Laurinaitis.

A WWE spokesperson acknowledged the affair by saying it was fully consensual, while Vince's lawyer, Jerry McDevitt, made it clear that no claims of harassment have been made and said that WWE paid her no monies upon her departure. What the outcome of this investigation will be remains to be seen, but it's a possible scandal that may damage McMahon's reputation in a big way.
