Vince McMahon Announces New "Wild Card Rule" For RAW And SMACKDOWN LIVE Going Forward

So, does this pretty much end the brand split? Tonight on Raw, Vince McMahon announced that 3 Superstars from SmackDown LIVE could occasionally show up on the red brand, and Vice Versa. More past the jump.

Vince McMahon kicked-off Raw tonight, and when he was interrupted by two SmackDown Superstars (Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan), he had an epiphany.

Going forward, a new "wild card rule" will be implemented for both Raw and SmackDown LIVE. Basically this means that a limited number of Superstars (initially 3, then 4) from either show will be invited to cross brand lines for one-night-only appearances, with unauthorized jumps to be penalized by fines or even potential firing.

While this doesn't mean that the brand split is over, it obviously has some potentially huge implications for cross-promotional storylines and feuds.

Some fans aren't too keen on the idea and see it as a clear ploy to boost ratings - which, of course, it is - but that doesn't mean it won't yield some exciting results.

Be sure to tune in to SmackDown tomorrow to see which red brand Superstars will show up.
