Last week, we learned that WWE Co-Presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson has exited WWE in what appeared to be a less than amicable split with Chairman Vince McMahon. Well, he's finally weighed in on their departure during a conference call with investors earlier today.
Vince said that they had, "Announced a management transition that did not reflect a change in strategy" and "The decision was based on different views on execution and areas of focus." He did praise them for their work but was quick to point out that WWE wouldn't miss a beat without them!
In other news, he was also asked about his commitments to the XFL and made it clear that the football league has nothing to do with WWE as it will have its own 400 employees. When one investor expressed concerns about him being involved with another company, he reiterated that WWE has made no investment in the XFL.
It was also noted that there are no plans to put the XFL back into WWE so crossovers may be few and far between if this is a venture McMahon is really hoping will stand on its own moving forward.
