Heading into WrestleMania, we heard that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was planning to step back into the ring for one more match despite being in his 70s. Pat McAfee was supposedly going to be Mr. McMahon's opponent, but it appeared plans changed, with Austin Theory stepping in to battle the SmackDown announcer. That match happened last night and, honestly, it was pretty good!
McMahon watched the bout from ringside, and McAfee picked up a shock win with a schoolboy pin that countered Theory's ATL finishing move. McAfee taunted his boss, prompting the Chairman to remove his jacket and shirt, calling for a referee so that he could face the announcer next!
Theory repeatedly interfered, and Vince picked up the win after punting a football into McAfee's chest.
Mr. McMahon didn't get long to enjoy his moment as Stone Cold Steve Austin hit the ring after defeating Kevin Owens the night before. After initially toasting his old foe, the Texas Rattlesnake hit Vince with a Stunner that, unfortunately, went slightly awry after McMahon lost his balance.
Vince was always terrible at selling the Stunner, but this might be the worst one we've seen. For what it's worth, Austin did his best to save it, but the Chairman might want to make this his final match!
