Yesterday, WWE held a quarterly conference call and Vince McMahon promises a "new beginning" for WWE programming this Fall. That obviously ties into when SmackDown Live moves to FOX and when the company's new deal with USA for RAW begins.
There's a lot of pressure on WWE to improve ratings given how much money has been spent on the new television deals and SmackDown Live could end up being moved from FOX to FS1 if ratings aren't good and that would dramatically decrease the number of viewers it could attract. According to Vince, a new writing team is being put in place to help steer creative.
We don't know for sure what that means but a team is also going to be formed for live events as they get "reimagined" in order to help attendance (WWE is barely breaking even on many shows).
Apparently, the presentation and storylines on RAW and SmackDown Live are expected to receive an overhaul but we've heard promises like this from Vince before and it's sadly came to naught.
