Vince McMahon FIRES His Own Son, Shane McMahon, Following Chaotic ROYAL RUMBLE On Saturday

Well, we didn't see this release coming. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has reportedly "let go" his son, Shane McMahon, following the negative response to this past Saturday's Royal Rumble match. Check it out...

Saturday's Royal Rumble was a decent enough PPV, but both Rumble matches received a lot of criticism. However, it was the Men's bout that reportedly caused the biggest uproar backstage, and we'd later learn that Shane McMahon was responsible. Put in charge of booking the match, we've heard he went into business for himself, making his character look strong at the expense of others.

While there had been ideas for Shane to return to WWE as a heel character on RAW, supposed plans for him to compete in the Elimination Chamber were clearly scrapped, and we now know why.

Ringside News is reporting that WWE's creative team has been told there "will be no more creative discussions about Shane McMahon." That's because Shane has essentially been fired by his father, Vince McMahon, as "[he] had no choice. Shane created chaos, had everyone in an uproar, pissed off everyone in the Rumble, openly buried other producers, and was changing things that Vince wanted. Vince had no other choice but to send him home."

It's said that the WWE Chairman is using the term "let go" to describe his son's dismissal and it appears he will no longer factor into WrestleMania

PW Insider is reporting that one idea was for Shane to face Austin Theory at the Show of Shows, while there had been plans for him to face Seth Rollins too. It sounds like the Chairman's son was frustrated with his father shooting down many of his ideas as he "wasn’t being allowed to do what he wanted" and was "greatly preoccupied" by his own role in the Rumble match. As a result, he's now taking the majority of backstage heat for the poor response to the bout.

WrestleVotes' Tweet also sounds pretty ominous...

Vince doesn't care about chaos, uproar, burring good talent, nor what the other producers think, he's the cause of that on a weekly basis with him running the show on his personal whims of the day. This was the real reason Vince fired him: "was changing things that Vince wanted".

Plus it's a great way to save face by blaming his son for what was everyone's fault, Vince should be held to blame too for giving so much power to Shane in a big nepotism move and for the stupid finishes to the men's title matches.

@4thMaster - Bingo. It's exactly why I stopped watching WWE a couple years ago. I got so fed up with Vince getting bored with the biggest stars and fan favorites for no reason at all.

Granted I don't think Shane was one of their "top stars", but I agree, the stlightest deviation or idea that isn't Vince's, it's gone.
