Vince McMahon Has Reportedly GIVEN UP On Pushing Finn Balor Following Loss To Austin Theory On RAW Vince McMahon Has Reportedly GIVEN UP On Pushing Finn Balor Following Loss To Austin Theory On RAW

During Monday night's episode of RAW, it became clear that there are no longer plans to do anything serious with Finn Balor. An ill-timed injury saw him stripped of the Universal Championship, and when he returned, it was as part of the midcard. A successful run in NXT reformed Balor, but his return to the main roster hasn't been overly successful.

Austin Theory, who earlier in the show had been threatened with a beating from Vince McMahon, scored a clean victory over Balor in just six minutes. The WWE Chairman reportedly sees Theory as a top star, so he's now pushing him at the cost of others.

"Finn was moved into the spot that Jeff Hardy had. He’s just there now to help get over the younger guys," a source tells WrestlingNews.co"There was a pitch to make him heel but that was weeks ago and I haven’t heard much about it since then. Vince never saw Finn as more than just a mid card guy. Heyman would have pushed him to the moon but Vince just never saw it."

Apparently, there are plans for Theory to receive a big push in the Royal Rumble match, possibly making it to the final four. As for Balor, we can only hope his contract is up soon so he can leave WWE.

You gotta wonder if Vince is just trolling everyone, and he is actively trying to destroy his own company. Finn Balor was the face of NXT for years, so sure, why not drop him? *sigh*

@pestulio07 - Not only was he the face of NXT, but he's still a fan favorite to this day. This is the problem. Vince pushes who he wants and doesn't care about what fans like. This has been his M.O. for a lot of years now.

@CorndogThief - Vince has always pushed who he wanted to push. The problem is he seems less willing or able to identify wrestlers he hasn’t invested in but who are over with the fans who he could push. It’s like he has blinders on at times but I’ll admit that there is always more to some of the decisions that we’ll never be aware of.

@lawndart - Yeah, for sure. But at the same time, you've gott question why certain guys get huge pops and the fans obviously love them, yet Vince never does anything of worth with them.

Rusev, with his Rusev Day gimmick might be the biggest example of this in the past decade.

@CorndogThief - I think it has more to do with his ego (Vince) or stubbornness than anything. Daniel Bryan was another one he didn’t like but eventually pushed because it was obvious it would make money

Just release him and let him go to another promotion.

@marvel72 - Yeah man. Finn is incredibly talented. It would be a shame to see him wasted on WWE like so many other talented stars, just so they can keep pushing the same people down everyone's throats nonstop.

@CorndogThief - Yeah if they can find success elsewhere and don't just give up on them, let them go.
