It looks like WWE chairman Vince McMahon intends to pour serious amounts of cash into the new XFL - a lot more than the initial reports suggested.

According to ESPN, McMahon has informed insiders that he expects to spend closer to $500 million over the course of the league's first three seasons. "People were focused on the $100 million, but the truth is that doesn't even get us to the 20-yard line," said league CEO and commissioner Oliver Luck.

Apparently, the biggest cost will be the salaries that'll be paid out to players and coaches, with insurance to cover player injuries also taking a big chunk.

Let's hope this XFL is a bigger success than the last one! The league is scheduled to kickoff operations in early 2020, shortly after SmackDown starts airing on NFL partner Fox.
