It's no secret that Kevin Owens recently took a hiatus from WWE due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, while he also revealed that he was the one to stress the importance of masks to the company. Now, the company has enforced a mask policy for talent behind the scenes, but what's in the pipeline for the former Universal Champion?
According to Dave Meltzer, Owens is being considered for another main event push in the coming weeks, but it may hinge on whether Rey Mysterio decides to sign another contract with the company. His deal recently expired, and he seems to be working with WWE on a goodwill basis.
Apparently, if Mysterio doesn't sign a new contract and chooses to leave, WWE will return to the feud between Owens and Seth Rollins which culminated at WrestleMania. However, even if the Master of the 619 does choose to stick around, it's possible Owens and Rollins will start feuding again, hence why they squared off on RAW this week.
There are probably better uses for KO in WWE right now, and it's certainly going to be interesting seeing what becomes of Rollins when he's set to square off with Mysterio in a match at Extreme Rules where the only way to win is to pull out your opponent's eye (really).
